Renaissance 875 Russian Revival Silver Chalice Goblet

This magnificent 875 silver covered chalice was made in Russia, possibly Latvia, c. 1880. The cup was done with an ornate gadroon, rococo, and leaf design. the leaf designs are that of an old mans face stretched through a leaf. The body of the cup was done with an engine turned design with an large engraved cartouche. The center of the cartouche is gilted with a personalized monogram. Parts of the stem, the upper rim of the cup, and the inside is also gilted. The cover was done in the same gadroon, rococo and leaf design, with a finial. This stunning goblet would make a wonderful wedding gift or addition to any collection.

HALLMARK: (picture #2)

CONDITION: In good condition with normal surface wear and scratches from usage and age. This piece was made from two pieces from silver. There is probably a loose screw inside the stem of the cup, and the top part moves around. There are scratches along the bottom half of the cup from where it was revolving, and scratching against the raised designs. The base of the cup is somewhat dented, but the item still sits flat.
