This charming and unusual antique candle snuffer tray was made in Budapest, Hungary in 1833. The 13 loth tray has a fluted design with an insert of floral petitpoint needlework. The sides of the tray peak upward to keep items in place, and there is an engine turned band around the base. The original wood backing for the needlepoint is held in place by sterling pins. This elegant piece would make a wonderful gift for a collector and a great place to keep small important things!
