This marvelous German 800 silver spice box is dated circa 1890, and signed by the artist. In a beautiful flower bud design, the box has a triangular base with three etched leaf legs. Above this is a ring of grass, with each blade curving outward. From this rises a stem with three applied leaves. The flower bud is pierced to allow the smell of spice to waft out. The piece is topped with a dove or eagle finial that can be removed for filling up the ball. A graceful piece, it is perfect for use with any havdalah set and can function as a piece of art on its own!
